Drain Cleaning That Clears the Whole Line
A plunger gets the water moving. A real fix gets the pipe clean. We clear the clog and look at why it keeps coming back.
Why you need to call a plumber
Here is the first clue we look for: is it one drain or many? One slow sink usually means a clog in that fixture's branch line. Several drains slowing down, gurgling or backing up together points to the main line, and that is a different job with different tools.
Drain clogs are layered. Hair, soap scum, grease and wipes build up on pipe walls, and a hole poked through the middle looks fine for a week. Then the buildup closes in again. Sometimes the clog is not buildup at all but a sagging pipe, a joint that has shifted, or roots getting in. Clearing the symptom without finding that leaves you calling again.
Pros also know how to clear a drain without damaging it. Wrong tools, forced hard, can scratch old pipe or push a clog into a worse spot.
The Pyper way
How Pyper fixes it
Figure out where the clog lives
We ask which fixtures are affected, what is going down them, and how long it has been happening. Then we test the lines to see whether the problem is local to one fixture or in the main line. This keeps us from clearing the wrong pipe.
Pick the right clearing method
Depending on the situation, we use a drain cable (sometimes called a snake) for typical clogs, or hydro-jetting, which uses high-pressure water to scour grease and buildup from pipe walls. Different clogs call for different tools. We choose based on pipe material, age, and what the blockage is made of.
Look inside with a camera
If a drain keeps clogging, or the main line is involved, we run a camera through the pipe. That shows us whether the cause is buildup, roots, a broken or sagging section, or an object. If the camera finds damage, we explain the options before anything else is done.
Test the flow and explain what we found
After clearing, we run water through the line to confirm it drains freely. We tell you what was in there and what to avoid, like grease, wipes and hair. You get a plain explanation and a clear next step if the pipe itself needs attention.
Plunger, yes. Chemicals and force, no
Start with a plunger, and for a sink or tub, pull out the stopper and clean the hair from it. A small hand drain tool can help in a bathroom sink. Those are safe. Be careful with chemical drain cleaners: they are harsh, they should never be mixed, and they can leave caustic liquid standing in a pipe that a plumber then has to work around. Stop and call if more than one drain is slow, water comes up somewhere else, or the clog returns. That points to the main line, and a rented cable can scratch or break old pipe.
Fixed right the first time
Most repeat clogs have a cause beyond the clog: a rough or damaged section where debris catches, roots, a low spot where waste settles, or heavy grease buildup. By clearing the full run, scouring the pipe where it makes sense, and using a camera when the pattern says something deeper is wrong, we aim to remove the reason for the clog instead of just the clog. That is how you avoid paying for the same cleaning every few months.
Questions we hear
Is a slow drain really an emergency?
Not always. But a slow drain can become a full blockage fast, and if several drains are slow at once, the main line may be filling up. If water is backing into the house, call right away.
What is hydro-jetting?
It is a cleaning method that sends high-pressure water through the pipe to wash away grease and buildup. We use it depending on the situation and pipe condition, usually after looking at what is in the line.
Why does my drain keep clogging?
A repeat clog usually means something in the pipe is catching debris, such as buildup, roots, a bad joint or a sag. A camera inspection can show us, so we fix the cause.
Can I just use chemical drain cleaner?
It may help with a small hair clog, but follow the label, wear eye protection, and never mix products. If it does not work, tell the plumber what you used so we can stay safe.
